Hello everyone! I have been a busy bee in my craftroom playing with all of my recently acquired Lawn Fawn goodies. Today I have a card to share using Lawn Fawn Monster Mash stamp set and the new Scripty Hugs die. I had so much fun making this card.
The first thing I wanted to do was play with my Faber Castell gelatos. I recently picked up the tropical set and was dying to try them out. I scribbled my gelatos onto a piece of watercolor cardstock in rainbow order and blended them with a water brush. I did this over the entire piece so I would have plenty of real estate to choose where I was going to diecut the word HUGS.
Quick tip: If you are gonna take the time and effort to pull out any mixed media, such as gelatos, watercolor paints or sprays, go ahead and create several different backgrounds in one sitting. I found that I had a lot more fun just creating and not making the background to match a specific themed card. I made about 7 different card panels and then drew inspiration from the designs and colors. So FUN!
I copic colored the cute monster, trying my best to make him look hairy! Lol. Don’t know if I succeeded, but I sure had fun. What a cute stamp set. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh sequins to finish off the card.
Well, that’s all for today. I will try to post a few more of my creations over the next few days, somehow life gets in the way of my blogging. Funny how that happens. ;)
Thanks for stopping by, HAPPY CRAFTING!
Hello everyone! I am back with a Valentine’s Day card using the new February 2015 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit.
I LOVE this kit! It’s one of the best!
I got lucky and had already purchased a few of the coordinating items in the KISS KISS collection by Crate Paper before the kit was even revealed. So when it was revealed, I was so happy to be able to use added products from my stash!
The stamp set by SSS that comes in the kit is amazing! The different heart elements are all so versatile.
For my card, I decided to use the Gold Metallic Gelato included in the kit as well as a shaker element that I made using my Papertrey Ink Shakers and Sprinkles kit. Almost a year later, I’m still using supplies from this kit! What a bargain!
I added confetti hearts, pink sequins and chunky gold glitter to the inside of the shaker. I really wanted the brushstroke look using the gelato. I just scribbled the gelato on the Tim Holtz Watercolor paper and spritzed with water using a mini mister. Then I had fun “painting” the background with a medium paintbrush I had on hand. I wanted a bit more of a bright gold touch rather than the muted antique look, so to help get the look I wanted, I flicked some Heidi Swapp gold spray mist. I am very pleased with the results.
For the finishing touch I couldn’t decide between GOLD sequins or GOLD enamel dots! Lol. A girl can never have too much gold! That’s what Laura Bassen says… I ended up laying down a few glittery gold enamel dots from Studio Calico.
I’m also entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. All you have to do is make something that you can associate with the letter “H” to inspire your work! What fun!
And that’s all for today! Thanks for stopping by and HAPPY CRAFTING! :)
